About Us

Cotterell Engineering was first formed in 1984 by engineer and vintage vehicle enthusiast Steve Cotterell. Steve’s passion for engine rebuilding and white metalling led him to leave a career in teaching and the company has gone from strength-to-strength ever since.

Steve’s son Rob Cotterell caught Steve‘s enthusiasm for vintage cars and motorbikes from an early age and joined the family-run business in 2000 once completing his ONC in Mechanical Engineering. Whilst working at Cotterell Engineering Rob developed his skills further and gained a HNC &  HND in Mechanical Engineering.

After the death of Steve in 2013, Rob now manages the company and continues to offer a range of services.

Ben Wells joined Cotterell Engineering as an apprentice in 2002 and is now an experienced Machinist who has gained a HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
